Our eco-friendly Hardwood Playchips provide an excellent safety surface which is BS EN 1177:1998 compliant when used to the recommended depth. They are light in colour so also make an attractive alternative to bark mulch or aggregates to brighten an area. Many of our customers also use Playchips in their chicken runs, pig pens etc.

Our Playchips are from an FSC Certified Sustainable Source and are made from white wood, meaning there is no added coating which could stain clothes. They will gradually soften even more over time once exposed to the elements, and are long-lasting.

Playchips provide free draining, therefore a cleaner play surface all year round; they are durable and free of pests, weeds, pathogens and other foreign matter. They have also passed the BS 7188-1998 Ease of Ignition Test.

If using as an impact absorbing safety surface, the recommended depth of coverage is 150mm - 300mm. This is the recommended depth at a critical fall height in excess of 3 metres.

If used as a safety surface, each bulk bag will cover approximately 4m² at a depth of 150mm and 2m² at a depth of 300mm. If used for landscaping projects the coverage will be approximately 24m² at a depth of 25mm.

• Produced from a variety of Hardwood Species – Wood Content 95%+ (5-30mm) with Fines Content (below 8mm) of less than 5%

• Due to the nature of the product and screening process, occasionally oversize pieces of wood may occur, these can easily be removed at the time of installation
• Recommended coverage depth of no less than 150 - 300mm if used as a play surface
